Yesterday I was shown this rather funky video by Cardiff Greens which, frankly, I think is brilliant!
Well, it made me think about what the best ever Green Party videos were. Well, no list would be complete without the Bordiga Brothers and “Green Party… get sexy!” which narrowly beats this gloriously bizarre offering from Eastern Europe opposing nuclear power (I think).
I always thought that this “Pimp Your House” spoof from Ireland was great. Not entirely ground breaking in its message, but certainly a jolly good romp.
When it comes to election broadcasts I’m a great fan of last year’s offering in Scotland for the Holyrood election. You’d have to go a long way to beat the rich depth of this one which combines both medium and message.
However, the broadcast that tops the lot comes from England and Wales. Even better than the 2009 Think Again broadcast, or the German Greens animated fun from the same year. This one, from 1999, is without a doubt the best party election broadcast I’ve ever seen.
