The kind of threat Cameron can live with

I’m always excited by the news of new political movements so imagine my delight to hear that political new comers We Demand A Referendum Party is holding its inaugural conference this weekend. Not to be confused with the Referendum Party or UKIP, WDARP is a group of disaffected UKIP members calling for an EU referendum.

The party is being fronted by Katie Hopkins, who was on the Apprentice (a show where inept elitists run round demonstrating that they’re even more inept and unpleasant than they appeared at first glance), and Nikki Sinclaire, one of histories numerous MEPs who got elected on UKIP’s ticket and then realised that a room full of angry eccentrics is a difficult place to be – especially if you yourself are an angry eccentric.

Anyway, what with Europe being even more unpopular than referendums, WDARP have a chilling message for Mr Cameron – hold a referendum or we will stand at the 2014 Euro-elections. Which elections are those? Well, it’s the one where the already established pro-referendum party, UKIP, is likely to humiliate the Conservatives by beating them into second place.

Displaying exactly the kind of acumen that made Katie Hopkins a failed candidate on a stupid television show WDARP’s main message is that if Cameron does not bow to their demands they will split his main rival’s vote at a crucial election, make the whole demand to hold a referendum look like the preoccupation of idiots and further undermine the ability of UKIP to create a stable, coherent party to the right of the Tories.

Cameron must be lying awake at night staring wide eyed at the ceiling listening to the tick tick ticking of his cold, robotic heart.
